Hi, I’m Mia Liu!
I am a learning experience designer with a background in education technology, second language education, and communication. My second language education master’s degree opened the door to the EdTech world for me and showed me the beauty of eLearning design. The working experience in an online education start-up not only provided me with opportunities to witness and participate in the successful implementation of immersive eLearning products but also enhanced my problem-solving skills. My second language teaching experience helped me better practice Andragogy teaching approaches and hone my learning experience design skills. Finally, my communication academic background and working experience made me a patient but persuasive communicator.

I believe one of the biggest advantages of eLearning training is allowing learners to experience real-life issues and make mistakes in a safe environment. As a designer, my goal is always to create the experience vividly so learners can simulate to solve problems that are relevant to a lack of working skills or knowledge.

I love using learner-centered approaches to customize the learning experience for each learner.
The point of creating a learner-centered learning solution is handing back learning itself to learners so they can choose what they need and when they need to learn. I love conducting learner-centered approaches, not only because they can reduce cognitive load, but also because they can trigger learners’ intrinsic motivation to meet or even exceed learning subjects.

One of my design principles is that eLearning content serves for problem-solving and performance improvement. As an eLearning experience creator, I love designing appealing visual content and incorporating various technologies into the learning experience, However, as an educator, I always aim to maximize learning comprehension and outcomes instead of showing off my design skills.
